The "Long Passage" is one of the most significant city
streets of the city that played an important role in the construction of the
street network during the Venetian period. It is located about in the middle of
the city, crossing it from the north to the south.
It was named "long passage"
due to its geometric characteristics (short amplitude and long length). During
the Turkish Empire it was called "Youzoun yol" or "Youzoun sokak" and was the
main street of the district.
On this street, there are several two or three
floor buildings of traditional architecture (folk style) and a few
architectural elements dating back to the Venetian and the Turkish period.
