The Arcardiou street,
or "Sabbionara", was one of the most important city streets of the city during
the Venetian period. Public baths and private monuments were located on
this street.
The districts built between the street of Arcadiou and the seaside were built during the Turkish Period.
Later, in 1900, the street was renamed as "Tsarou Street" and today it is one of the city's commercial streets.
