The
"Pattakou Hani" is a building complex located on "Arcadiou" street 48-50. It
dates back to the Venetian Period and was either the private property of
a Venetian General, or a public building. It is worth noticing the front of the
building complex, which was built according to Renaissance aesthetics and
standards, commonly found in Greece.
The doorframe is one of the largest in the
city of Rethymno, richly decorated.
The building architecture is impressive,
with Corinthian and Gothic order influences.
The top part is decorated with two
large and deep reliefs, representing lions and the arched opening is decorated
with flying "Eros".
