The Prefecture's Administration Services are accommodated in a two-floor neoclassic building, located on the plateau of the "Heroes of the Polytechnic school".

It was built in about 1845 and was accommodating the government's services, while it was also used as the habitation of Prince George, the consul commissary of Crete in the years 1898-1906.
