The Archaeological Museum of Rethymno is located in front of the main gate of the Fortezza fortress. The exhibits present artifacts coming exclusively from the archeological sites of prefecture of Rethymno. The exhibition is organized in different periods, in a choronological order and by excavation site, covering a time span from the Neolithic to the Roman period.
