On the edge of the St. Ioustini peak there is the house of
one of the two councils of the Venetian administration (the seconds ought to
reside in the city, to maintain civil order).
It is a two-floor building, which used to belong to a Cretan noble named
Francisco Lampardos before selling it to the Venetian administration.
The building consists of a long hallway and
four rooms, two one each side.
The same structure is found on the floor, where a
small room covered by a vault is located and probably functioned as a bath.
Today, the building is restored and accommodates the icon restoration
laboratory of 28th Byzantine Antiquities Conservancy.
